Dark night of the soul

The Dark Night of the Soul (DNotS) is an important spiritual term, as are Jungian synchronicities and also Jungian shadow. Unfortunately, such “negative” things are rarely talked about among esotericists, because it is not “in”, because then it is no longer enough to just read. DNotS is already an intermediate result of a certain practice, which does not smell good at all to esotericists…
And why is it so important?! Because without that, without this phase of development, we will not move forward! The basis of personality development and spiritual development is not reading, but (also) working with the “dark” side of our personality and its transformation into a “positive” one, in fact, full integration into the unified personality of a person…
The dark night of the soul should be repeated at least 3 times in the life of a person who is really developing spiritually. In the best case, at every transition from lower consciousness to higher consciousness (that is, looking from the “outside”, from a lower level to a higher level of Being), and in the worst case, not once, but it can be many times.
Unfortunately, the blind/ignorant observer cannot distinguish the “dark night of the soul” from depression or other psychological disorders, because not every depression is automatically a dark night of the soul…
In this period, the individual inner soul of a person experiences “hellish torments” = trials. It is a test of whether she has matured to advance to the next, higher level of Being!
For example a psychic I know was pre-examined before she started seeing. For 3 days and 3 nights she saw only negative beings, demons, souls of the dead (they look like how and in which way they died) and suicides, also fallen angels, etc. Only then did she receive spiritual clairvoyance.
Also, before she began to see the spiritual realms even during meditations, she was tested. She was trapped in one room by negative beings and they began to drain her life energy. Finally, she understood that there was nothing left for her to do but to pray. And the Lord’s prayer saved her, and then she began to see spiritually, but then only during meditation. That was before her daytime clairvoyance.
From the point of view of mental and spiritual powers and abilities, we can describe the same thing a little differently. DNotS is an old term denoting night, mortification, passivity of mental forces. From a psychological point of view, it can manifest itself as a pathological condition, e.g. it can take the form of depression or other psychological disorders, but as I already wrote, not every depression is automatically DNotS.
DNotS begins to manifest itself when a person has already embarked on the path of spiritual development and has already completed a certain phase of spiritual exercises. It can be an intermediate result of a practice that can take different forms: intensive meditations, prayers, contemplations, yoga exercises, individual mantras, etc. Who does nothing else, just e.g. he reads ezo and spiritual books, he cannot have DNotS because it must be preceded by intense mental and spiritual activity. However, this may not be the case in the case of sudden psychological changes, when these changes can lead to spiritual awakening, but mostly in the case of people who are not properly prepared, for whom it can stop spontaneously after a certain period of time or turn into a psychological pathological state.
In my case, this condition was repeated 3 times. When someone has e.g. manifested some spiritual abilities, these abilities may be dampened or even stopped. The inability to make further spiritual progress is typical. Either in general in individual development or in a certain direction (and in a given period). During it, when a person approaches it correctly, mental forces are accumulated, and with suitable self-work, this can lead to the state of mystical death and mystical awakening. If it is not used correctly, then the person either falls back to his original state or it can turn into a longer/shorter mental pathological state, which with the wrong “treatment”, therapy can result in mental illness. However, DNotS is a chance to move further, in a diametrically different direction and qualitatively further, energetically higher. Automatic success is not guaranteed, because the soul and man experience “torments”, which are mostly psychological, but sometimes there can be physical manifestations as well. A person must be able to continuously process these mental and/or physical torments in the right way. In other words, it is also a test of whether a person is ready to move to the “next level” of development…
