Socratic dialogue and quotes

People put quotes on their facebook or page. However, quotes have a huge informative value not only in themselves, regarding the topic they relate to, but they can also be used as non-verbal indicators of a given person’s inner state. I will give one example.
One of my friends posted this quote on Facebook:
“…They are not aware of their abilities and therefore constantly live on the minimum…”
When I asked her what it means to her, how she explains it, she told me that nothing, because she just likes this quote and doesn’t even know why. But I tell her, because it gives you a huge well of information about yourself, what we do wrong in our life and how to change it. But she tells me that she doesn’t understand. I tell her that I know that she and her family live on the bare minimum and have existential problems. I ask her if she knows what specific abilities she has. And she tells me that she didn’t even think that she could have any abilities at all and that it would be so important. And finally it turned out that when she thought about it, she couldn’t even say what to do with her life and why they were living on the bare minimum. Then she told me that she didn’t even realize how important it can be to know one’s own abilities and that their proper development and use could lead to the elimination of financial problems. This is also how a Socratic dialogue can look, which is so important for our practical everyday life…
